Day 8: Las Vegas

After a six hour flight, we landed in Las Vegas past midnight local time. Check in at the Bellagio was a bit of a blur, since it was around 4am New York time by the time we got our rooms. This was our third trip to Las Vegas together and my sixth visit. Las Vegas is one of our favorite destinations because it is such a great place to just relax, eat great food, see incredible shows, and indulge at these great five star properties. While we have visited the Bellagio many times, this was our first time staying here. Unsurprisingly, I booked the stay with Amex FHR, which had an additional promotion of a $100 F&B credit on top of the regular $100 amenity credit and $120 breakfast credit.

While the Bellagio does have an aura of prestige associated with the name, it is one of the older hotels on the strip and there are nicer options like Aria, Cosmopolitan, Wynn, and Waldorf Astoria. Of course the deal above was too good to pass up and the Bellagio is still one of the most iconic hotels in Las Vegas. Overall, they have maintained the hotel pretty well, even though it does show some age. We had a small upgrade to the Spa Tower, which is one of the newer additions to the property. It is further from the lobby than the main towers, but the rooms are slightly bigger and the bathroom has double vanities. We also had a pretty decent view of the Eiffel Tower.

After I woke up, I went down to the pool for a morning dip. This was very refreshing, especially before the August desert heat kicks in.

We then went for breakfast at the Bellagio Buffet. The great thing about free breakfast in Las Vegas is that their breakfast buffets are way more extensive than your typical hotel.

We then headed out to the North Las Vegas Premium Outlets. While not typically considered a shopping destination, I find the Las Vegas outlets as one of the best in the world. They have a large variety of stores and usually some great deals. We came back in the evening and got dressed up for dinner. To use the $100 F&B Credit, we had dinner at Harvest by Roy Ellamar. This was an excellent meal. We had some amazing lobster, filet mignon, mushroom risotto, and scallops.

After dinner, we went for a walk around the Aria City Center complex and the new T-Mobile Park. Along the way, we picked up some ice cream - specifically my girlfriend’s favorite mango sorbet. What a nice and relaxing day.
